Paper has dominated retail marketing and field operations for decades — not because it works best, but because nothing better fit the environment. EverInq is purpose-built to change that: a full hardware-firmware-software operating system, anchored in E Ink technology, designed for the places LED can't go and paper shouldn't stay.
The Technology Commitment
Built on E Ink Spectra 6
The name is intentional. EverInq is built exclusively around E Ink — not as a peripheral option, but as the foundational display technology. E Ink Spectra 6's six-color bistable media represents the inflection point that makes full-color, zero-power-hold commercial signage viable at mid-market scale. This is the right technology, at the right moment.
Full-color Spectra 6 rendering at 13.3” (prototype) scaling to 25.3”, 31.5” and future sizes/lines
Cloud-side, thermally-calibrated bitstream injection — no local high-power image processing required; designed to leverage E Ink's full driver and waveform innovation roadmap
E Ink and its ecosystem are co-innovation and distribution partners — not a supplier to route around
The Hardware Platform
On · Ever Sustainable · Ever Purposeful
A Field Asset, Not Just a Sign
EverInq nodes are purpose-built IoT devices — not screens bolted into enclosures. Each unit is designed to operate outdoors, unsupervised, for extended periods: modular power source, solar assist, in-process content refresh and visibility persistence through main power loss, active thermal management with logic-gated controls, cryptographic component authentication, location & orientation sensing, LED chromatic bezel for status and brand output, and more.
Safe, hot-swappable, high-cycle energy-logic module (the EverInq Core™), leveraging LiFePO4 technology for prototype
Three-stage thermal sensing + chimney with gated panel refresh, heating, or cooling to mitigate panel pigment failure/damage
Cryptographic authentication of energy-logic module and bezel — only authorized and compatible peripheral installation/removal
Persistence buffer (main power loss redundancy), theft deterrence, orientation detection, outdoor-hardened chassis engineered for thermal resilience and impact resistance
Planned pilot SKUs: A-Frame & T-Frame pillar stand (1- and 2-sided embodiments); shelf/tabletop (13.3” panel)
The platform architecture is designed to expand across form factors as the fleet grows. Outdoor and freestanding is the beachhead — not the ceiling.
The Software Layer
uisitive · Intelligent · Innovative
CMS · Analytics · Open API
Where the Hardware Pays Off
The OS layer is where the hardware investment compounds. Cloud-based Content Management Software (CMS) delivers thermally-aware content previews and bitstreams. Every deployed node generates hundreds of data points per day — ambient and panel temperature, refresh cycles, power state, uptime, location validation, to name a few — surfaced for performance analytics and improvement, not customer surveillance.
The native CMS models how the current panel environment can affect presentation; and provides flexible optimization and configuration of content server-side, ensuring only lightweight bitstreams are delivered to the edge
Real-time fleet telemetry: power state, content state, thermal envelope, location, orientation, uptime across all nodes
Open API architecture — purpose-built to connect with existing partner CMS or middleware platforms
Vetted ecosystem model: third-party integrations and plug-ins without forking the hardware stack
Partnership Position
EverInq views E Ink Corporation and its technology and distribution ecosystem as a core strategic partner in this build. Our go-to-market depends on E Ink's continued panel innovation, waveform development, and partner network reach. We are actively seeking relationships with:
System integrators working in outdoor, retail, hospitality, and operations signage
CMS and middleware platform partners seeking E Ink-native fleet management capability
Pilot customer partners in mid-market retail, QSR, hospitality, and field operations
Stage
Active Prototype — PCB design complete, firmware ~75% complete with hardware testing underway
Web and mobile app (CMS + data engineering/analytics + fleet management) in active development alongside hardware
Pilot outreach targeting Q4 2026
